A smash and grab performance from Diss Town saw them take the spoils in the dying minutes of  this entertaining game.

Walden dominated the match in the first half but could not find the killer touch in front of goal. The impressive Chadwick tested the home side goalie in the sixth minute when he beat two defenders to shoot across goal but shaved the far post.

Minutes later Stokes shielded the ball and set Chadwick up to shoot but Diss defender Leggett cleared off the line.  A free kick awarded to Walden on the edge of the area was blasted in by Strong but Hilton managed to parry to deny the Bloods the lead. 

Diss replied on the half hour when Foster’s through ball to Deacon to volley into the arms of Pledger in the Walden goalmouth. Pledger was at full stretch to save a header by Diss captain Vince from an in-swinging corner kick. 

The second half continued with both teams lacking the scoring touch in the penalty area. The Bloods passing game was gaining advantage with Stokes and Leys combining to set Collins up with a volley but his shot curled wide of the post.  Minutes later Collins sprinted into the box to volley into the arms of Hilton in the Diss goal. 

Kingham’s forty yard shot had the large crowd on their feet but the ball skimmed the bar to disappoint the Walden supporters.  Diss eventually found a way through the Bloods defence when Norman blasted in a shot that rebounded off the post to Angel who tapped into an open goal. 1-0 (85minutes).

The Bloods management can take heart in their performance of this young side that are without numerous experienced players that are still on the injured list, against a side that play entertaining football in front of a large supporters group, that showed their appreciation for an entertaining game.
