New Club Rules Proposed to Ensure a Secure
Future for SWTFC SWTFC is currently an unincorporated private members club, with around 330 members. At the Annual General Meeting (AGM) on July 5th, 2012, members voted in favour of the club becoming a Community Benefit Society (CBS), and for further work to be taken forward with Supporters Direct1 to develop a set of new club rules. At the AGM we committed to consulting via the club website on the draft new rules, ahead of an Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) (which will be held in the New Year), when the Committee will ask members to ratify the new rules as the final step before incorporating as a CBS. |

The consultation
runs from December 1st 2012 to January 31st 2013 and comments should be

Feedback from supporters will be discussed by the SWTFC Committee, before a final set of rules are prepared for members to vote on at an EGM, currently expected in Spring 2013 The Briefing Paper, Q and A document and all of the Supporting Papers are available here. |

AGM - Round Up At the AGM in July Melvyn Seymour was elected to the vacant Vice Chairman position and Jon Hawker and Ken Vincent were elected to the 2 vacant Committee member places. The Full Committee is listed below. After the liveliest debate of the evening, the Meeting voted to support the Committee's proposal to improve the Club's democratic structure and become a Community Benefit Society. The Committee will draw up revised club rules to reflect this. These rules will be presented for approval at an Extraordinary General Meeting later in the season. The full minutes of the AGM are available here. |

About SWTFC -
Making our case to the Football Association Supporters may be interested to see the presentation that SWTFC Committee Members made to Football Association officials in June to make the case for Saffron Walden Town FC's return to senior Football. The presentation can be downloaded here. |
Community Benefit Society
The SWTFC Committee believes that the best way to enshrine a stable,
successful future for the club, to ensure that it keeps working for the
benefit of the community, is to be structured as a Community Benefit
Society.
The SWTFC AGM in July endorsed this view and work will continue over the
next few months to deliver this. The Committees Discussion Paper (June
2012) is available
here for background information as is the
advice
received from Supporters Direct.
