Bloods earn all three points in the gritty Boxing Day Derby match

Over 400 fans came along to watch the match, which created an excellent atmosphere for all. Both sides were desperate to get the win over their rivals, but it was Wardleys men who came away with the victory.

Joe Murphy came close early on in the match, as he controlled the ball at the edge of the 18 yard box. His long range effort narrowly missed the post

Joe Maybanks caused havoc on the wing, and passed three defenders but his dipping shot ended up on the roof of the net

Midway through the first half Connor Molloy came close with a headed effort from a free kick, but Rovers keeper made a good save.

Near the end of the half, Bloods keeper; Neil O'Sullivan pulled off an excellent point blank save after the defence could not clear the ball away from the 18 yard box.

15 minutes into the match, Haverhill were awarded a free kick out wide. The initial shot was blocked, but the follow up hit the post.

Dan Trendall was introduced to the match, and almost instantly put the bloods in front, but his 18 yard curling lob had beaten Turner, but went just wide of the post.

With just 20 minutes remaining, Neil O'Sullivan made a world class save which earned him the MOTM award as the fans were stunned by his incredible agility.

It was Dan Trendall who was the hero of the match, when the inform Connor Molloy found him in space and produced an excellent through ball. Trendall calmly lifted the ball over Turner and it dropped under the cross bar.

The match could have gone either way, but the Bloods showed great determination and deserved all three points.

The Bloods are back in action at Catons Lane on the 6th January and welcome Walsham-Le-Willows
