Cup final for Walden!

Saffron Walden Town twice came from behind to beat Stansted FC in an exciting South Midlands Floodlight Cup semi-final at Catons Lane on Wednesday Night.  Goals from Richard Chadwick, Mitchell Das and an extra time winner from a Kevin Vallis penalty means that Walden's final game this season will be against Cockfosters in the Final.   Match Report here.

League Season ends with Yarmouth defeat...

Saffron Walden Town ended the League Season with a 2 - 1 defeat at Great Yarmouth on Saturday.  Ben Riches scored the Walden goal.

The result means that Walden ended the season in seventh place in the Ridgeons League First Division... Report here.

Quendon in Semi-Final....

A 3 - 1 home victory against Great Chesterford on Thursday evening means a semi final appearance in the Saffron Walden Cup for Quendon.  Goalscorers at Catons lane were Tyler Gilkes, Matt Clarke
and Mitchell Das. Quendon will be at home to Hatfield Heath in the semi-final , date yet to be arranged.

Diss-apointment at Catons Lane

A 1 - 1 draw at Catons Lane dealt a blow to Walden's promotion chances on Saturday. Steve Best scored an eighth minute goal for Diss Town.  

But Ben Riches equalised in an improved second half performance by Walden in front of a seasons best crowd of 277.

The goal was Ben Riches fifth in the last four league games.

Walden will have to win at Great Yarmouth on Saturday -  but hope that Hadleigh are defeated and Whitton get no more than a point - to finish the season in the final third promotion place in the table.
